What is powder coating?

Powder Coating is a process of applying in organic powder surface treatment to various metal surfaces. The powder is applied in a spray form using an electric charge to adhere to the metal finish. Then the powder is baked in curing oven. The curing process creates a chemical reaction fusing the powder into the metal surface. This process results in a hardened, more durable finish than wet application such as paint. You can choose from a variety of colors and surface finishes – texture, satin, gloss, matte, etc.

What are it's advantages?

Powder coating is more resistant to weather in corrosive conditions, and more resistant to chipping and scratching than wet paint applications. It can be applied in a variety of applications such as automotive, agriculture, construction, architectural, electrical, lawn and garden (patio and playground equipment), industrial, etc.

Powder coating can provide a thicker coating because it does not have a liquid carrier and therefore has no runs, drips, sagging in its appearance. It is EPA friendly, containing no VOC’s (volatile organic compounds). Powder coating tends to hold its color much longer than conventional painting. There are even options for UVA protective colors to prevent fading in outdoor applications.
